How to play Yut Nori
Goal
Bring all four of your tokens home first. Tokens travel around the board from the start corner and exit past the final station.
Throwing the sticks
Each turn starts by throwing four yut sticks. The number of face-down sticks is your move: Do = 1, Gae = 2, Geol = 3, Yut = 4, Mo = 5 (all four face up).
A Yut or Mo earns another throw — as do captures and bringing a token home, so a single turn can chain several moves.
Moving tokens
Pick one of your tokens and move it the thrown number of stations. Bringing a token onto the board uses one step of the throw, so a Do leaves it on the starting station.
Landing exactly on a corner or the center lets you choose a diagonal shortcut on your next throw. Passing through a corner or the center mid-move continues straight — shortcuts only branch when you land exactly on them.
Reaching or passing the exit brings a token home; you don't need an exact count.
Capturing and stacking
Land on a station holding enemy tokens and every one of them is sent back to start — and you throw again.
Your own tokens on the same station form a stack that moves together. Stacks travel fast but risk bigger losses when captured.
House rules here
We play without back-do (the backward move) and the entry rule above. Everything else follows the traditional game.
